General Information on Shipping

  • Orders can only be placed through the website. We do not accept orders over the phone or by mail.
  • If the item you ordered runs out of stock after your order has been placed, we will contact you via phone or the email provided in your order to exchange the item for another item of equal value. If we do not receive a response within 10 business days we reserve the right to refund your order in full.
  • We do not ship on weekends and holidays, which may delay the processing and shipment of your order.
  • All customers can view the details and status of their orders online to see if their order has been confirmed, is in the progress of being prepared or dispatched.
  • This information is available by logging into ‘My Account.
  • You will receive an email when your items have been dispatched with an update as to when you will receive your order.
  • Delivery will be made to the address you supply when you place your order. We will deliver your order to the main entrance of the delivery address, where it is safe to do so, or otherwise as near as practicable to that entrance.
  • All goods must be signed for on delivery by an adult aged 18 years or over. If the person receiving the goods looks under 18, proof of age will be requested. If proof is not available and there is no one of that age at the address when delivery is being made, the goods may be retained by the driver.
  • If there is no answer at the delivery address you have given, our driver will leave a notification of attempted delivery and you will need to collect the parcel from your local depot. If this happens, the delivery driver will leave a calling card at your home to let you know where your order is and how you can collect it.
  • If you believe your parcel has been lost in the post, please contact our Customer Services team as soon as possible using these contact details. We will then investigate what has happened to your parcel.
  • Customers have up to a maximum of 60 days from the date of shipment to claim their package as lost in order to receive any compensation regarding their order.
  • The customer is responsible for the cost of a return, unless the product is damaged, incorrect, or incomplete at the fault of the company.
  • Each parcels delivery note will tell you the items you can expect to find inside. Please check the delivery notes from each part of your order to make sure you’re not missing anything.
  • If an item is missing, please contact us by email with the order number and the missing item’s name and SKU number. We will resolve the issue for you as quickly as we can.

If a product you have ordered is unavailable, we would NOT dispatch an alternative product. You may instruct us to dispatch an alternative product by contacting our Customer Services team so we can advise you on the next step to take. Please send an email to info@makan.ie

Delivery Charges – Republic of Ireland & Northern Ireland

Normally, our delivery charges are as follows:

  • The shipping time is estimated after your order has shipped out of our warehouse, not the time the order is placed.
  • Most orders placed before 4pm GMT on a weekday will get shipped normally the next day. Shipping and delivery dates are not guaranteed unless specified.
  • Standard estimated shipping time is within 2 business days but most orders if before 4pm will be delivered next day (Mon-Fri):
  • €10 is the standard shipping charge for all the orders.
  • The maximum weight for each order would be 25kg. Anything above this and you will be contacted with bulk shipping rates prior to the order being processed.
  • For parcel that hasn’t been collected from Courier / Post Office and returned to us. There will be an administration charge of €10 (or the same amount of the shipment cost, whichever is greater) to cover the cost of courier service.

Delivery Charges – United Kingdom ( excluding N.I. )

Normally, our delivery charges are as follows:

  • The shipping time is estimated after your order has shipped out of our warehouse, not the time the order is placed.
  • Most orders placed before 4pm GMT on a weekday will get shipped within 4 business days. Shipping and delivery dates are not guaranteed unless specified.
  • Standard estimated shipping time is within 4 business days (Mon-Fri):
  • €17.50 is the standard shipping charge for all the orders.
  • The maximum weight for each order would be 20kg. Anything above this and you will be contacted with bulk shipping rates prior to the order being processed.
  • For parcel that hasn’t been collected from Courier / Post Office and returned to us. There will be an administration charge of €17.50 (or the same amount of the shipment cost, whichever is greater) to cover the cost of courier service.

Delivery – Other European countries

Normally, our delivery charges are as follows:

  • The shipping time is estimated after your order has shipped out of our warehouse, not the time the order is placed.
  • Most orders placed before 4pm GMT on a weekday will get shipped within 5 business days. Shipping and delivery dates are not guaranteed unless specified.
  • Standard estimated shipping time is within 5 business days (Mon-Fri):
  • €22.60 is the standard shipping charge for all orders to Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany & Luxembourg
  • €24.50 is the standard shipping charge for all orders to Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark & Poland
  • €27.50 is the standard shipping charge for all orders to Hungary
  • €30 is the standard shipping charge for all orders to Italy, Spain & Sweden
  • €35 is the standard shipping charge for all orders to Portugal
